Flame Retardant Nylon 12, also referred to as PA2241FR, offers all the durability of PA 12 (Nylon 12) with the added benefit of flame retardancy.
Ideal for parts that may be exposed to fire, and those requiring impact strength including functional testing and final products.
This additive manufacturing material is ideal for a wide range of applications, boasting impact resistance, chemical stability, and of course, flame retardancy.
This high-performance thermoplastic is designed for use in our state-of-the-art selective laser sintering 3D printing machines and it provides exceptional mechanical properties, just like the base material – PA 12.
However, with the addition of the halogen-based flame retardant, this 3D printing material can be used in a host of applications where PA 12 can’t. Practical applications for this material may be wiring harnesses, exhaust manifolds or ventilation ducts within the rail, aerospace and aviation industries.
With a combination of strength, flexibility, and flame and environmental resistance, this versatile and robust material is suitable for a host of applications in many different sectors including aerospace, automotive, energy and motorsport sectors.
Our state-of-the-art SLS printing capabilities enable us to produce components from flame-retardant Nylon 12 as large as 680 x 370 x 530 mm.
